Entry Requirements

  • A Level: Must include passes at A2 in at least one subject.
  • BTEC: Extended Diploma (QCF) or Diploma (QCF)
  • International Baccalaureate: Diploma with 24 points including a minimum of 15 points at Higher Level.
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the university.

Note: We would normally expect you to have Grade C in GCSE English and Maths.

English Language Requirements:

  • Overall IELTS score of 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking (or recognised equivalent).

Curriculum

his joint course will give you an in-depth grounding in the foundations of the two subjects. We‘ll encourage you to challenge assumptions about how development and politics operate.

We place special emphasis in our teaching on the lives of people in developing countries when it comes to gender relations, popular culture  and politics.

Among a range of skills, you’ll be able to assess the social, economic, political and cultural processes that have shaped the developing world. You’ll also have an understanding of the nature and significance of politics as a global activity.
