Curriculum

This degree has a common first year with our tourism management degree course to provide a thorough grounding in business concepts, service marketing and management. You’ll gain an excellent understanding of hospitality in the wider context of tourism.

In your second year, you’ll have a degree of choice in what you study in addition to core modules in Finance, Marketing, Leading and Managing People and the Organisation and Management of Hospitality Businesses.

In your final year, you’ll study further core modules such as Food and Beverage Management and Exhibition and Conference Management. You’ll also have a choice of optional modules, including Niche Marketing for Events and Leisure.

The third year will be your placement year, if you choose this option. We’ll help you to find a suitable placement to build on your knowledge and improve your practical skills as you make a contribution to a real business. If you decide not to take the year-long placement option, we’ll help you to arrange work experience or an internship.
