Accommodation

University of Chester offers a few kinds of residences to its' students to which they are free to choose from; self catered residence, semi-catered residence, full board residence, quiet peaceful living and temporary accommodation.

Self-catered residence are mainly either on campus or nearby to the campus which makes it easy for the students to travel back and forth to campus anytime they want at their own convenience. They also have accommodations for their students which is situated closer to the city centre. These self catered residence usually have a kitchen, a bathroom and a dining area which will be shared among 6 students. Cleaning services are provided every once a week for the residences. However, meals are not provided for the students living there, but students can make arrangement with the existing meal schemes or simply make their own meal at the kitchen provided. Students are not required to check out or leave the residences during holidays like Ester or Christmas.

Semi-catered residence on the other hand are usually at the border of the campus or are within 5 or 10 minutes of walking distance from campus.This kind or residence usually accommodates roughly between 10 to 40 students in one house. Semi-catered residences provides kitchens, dining rooms and common areas. Most of the rooms in here are single room and some of these rooms come with their very own attached bathroom. Just like self-catered residence, semi-catered also provides cleaning services every once a week. Also, 2 meals a day (lunch and dinner) are provided during the weekdays for the students living here. Students living here do not need to vacate during the holidays as well. 

Full Board residences are usually on campus. The rooms here are single with attached bathrooms. The rest however have a common bathroom which will be shared. Pantry and common areas are also provided here with facilities like iron, ironing board and washbasin. Cleaning services are provided for each room once a week and 3 meals a day are provided everyday to the students living there. Student however have to vacate during the holidays. 

Quiet or peaceful living is for students who wants to live off-campus but somewhere convenient and nearby at the same time. In this case, the university has a few properties which they call as quiet and peaceful and is offered to students who want to live in a quiet and peaceful environment (hostel environment free) and are able to study at the same time. 

Temporary accommodation is when they university has a few temporary vacant rooms in any of the accommodations. This will usually be a shared room and will only be available to the student for the first few weeks of the term. Students living in a temporary accommodation may also be offered a permanent room if there are vacant rooms during the first term.

Parkgate Road Campus, Chester

  • Our on-campus facilities include a Learning Resource Centre, modern lecture theatres, open-access computer facilities, state-of-the-art science/skills/language laboratories, a range of catering outlets, the £2 million Chester Students' Union centre and CSU bar/club, bookshop, chapel and faith space, cashpoint and launderette.

Queen's Park Campus

  • The site provides specialist teaching facilities for students of University of Chester Business School in the Faculty of Business, Enterprise and Lifelong Learning.

Riverside Campus

  • The Riverside Campus provides specialist teaching facilities for most students in the Chester-based Faculties of Education and Children's Services, and Health and Social Care.

Parkgate Road Campus, Chester

  • Parkgate Road Campus is situated only a short walk from the lively city centre, and provides a friendly, secure and supportive environment in which to live and study.

Queen's Park Campus

  • The prestigious new Queen's Park Campus is situated only a very short walk away from the lively city centre, and provides a friendly, secure and supportive environment in which to study. 

Riverside Campus

  • This iconic building in the centre of Chester is just a 20-minute walk from the main Chester Campus.
