Entry Requirements
- A-levels: BBB.
- BTEC: DDM.
- International Baccalaureate: 30 points.
- Access to HE Diploma: pass with 60 credits overall. Art and design courses are preferred. At least 30 credits at merit or above.
- GCSE (minimum grade C): at least three subjects including English language and mathematics.
English Language Requirement:
- IELTS 6.0 overall, 6.0 in writing, and a minimum of 5.5 in the other three elements.
Portfolio advice
When you come for interview you will be asked to bring a portfolio to show your work – this shouldn’t be expensive or highly developed but we would like to see:
- 15-20 drawings and ideas on A1 or A2 sheets, not mounted onto heavy card or in plastic sheets
- Your ability to carry an idea forward from concept
- Your potential to experiment and explore ideas and techniques
- Examples of life drawing
- Two working sketchbooks
- Awareness of contemporary fashion communication

- Fashion illustration and imaging
- Visual promotion
- Historical and critical studies
- Mood boards and branding in Business Studies
Year 2
Specialise in one of three areas:
- Fashion photography and styling
- Fashion imaging, film and interaction
- Visual promotion
Year 3
- First term research into a self-chosen area of study
- This area of study is then developed into a final project with a series of outcomes
- A historical and critical studies dissertation
- In Business Studies you will submit a business plan
- You will be part of a final exhibition where industry contacts are invited to see your work
