Entry Requirements
- A-Levels UCAS Tariff Points Required: 260
- GCSE / Standard grades required: Five GCSEs (Grade C or above) required, including English and Mathematics.
- Other equivalent qualifications may be accepted.
- IELTS Score Required: IELTS 6.5 (6.0 in each component) or acceptable equivalent.
- Applications are welcomed from those who are returning to education. These students should demonstrate potential and motivation.
- Overseas applicants who will be considered in line with normal entry requirements are welcomed.
Curriculum
- Text, Culture and Context: A theory course which studies when plays were written and why
- The Actor and Texts 1: A practical course on acting technique
- The Actor and Texts 2: Further acting technique with a major production at the end
- Improvisation, Devising and Storytelling: Practical performance skill courses
- Stagecraft and Design: Introduction to lighting, sound and stage management
- Applied Drama 1: Practical course involving working with a chosen community
- Contemporary Performance: Theory course in 20th Century and 21st Century performance
- Specialist Theory and Practice: A practical in which you might chooses one from: Stand-up Comedy, TV Drama, Radio Drama, Physical Theatre or Musical Theatre
- Adapting the Text: Creating a play from a non-theatre text
- Related Learning: Studying aspects of employability that interest you
- Applied Drama 2: Continues the work of Applied Drama 1
- Direction in Practice: You will direct a short 15 minute extract of your own choosing
- Independent Project in Drama: You will research and develop your own interests
- Production in Practice: The final year Festival of Theatre (see above)
