About City And Islington College

Established in 1993, City and Islington College has received well over 250,000 students consisting of young people and adults and has made history at being one of the best colleges in London out there. In 2017 alone, around 1400 students have furthered studies in higher education. Some of the students here have studied at many levels —from beginners in English as a second language to Foundation degrees and at the same time, a vast range of subjects and skills. The time they have spent at the College can range from one to four years.  Some students have even been recorded to have completed multiple programmes of study.

City and Islington College has five major sites and is a prominent member of the Collab Group, belonging to a high achieving group of Further Education colleges in England. In 2005, a £64 million building programme was completed by the college and was recorded as the biggest investment in accommodation in the history of further education in the United Kingdom. City and Islington College also has the International Baccalaureate program at its Sixth Form College in 2010.

There are three options for students to choose from regarding their accommodation by the College, including:

Homestay

Prices per person per week are (differ according to zones):

  • Bed and breakfast: £120 (Standard Zone 4); £170 (Superior Zone 2, 3); £225 (Executive Zone 1,2)
  • Half board: £165 (Standard Zone 4); £195 (Superior Zone 2, 3); £275 (Executive Zone 1,2)
  • Half board with packed lunch: £180 (Standard Zone 4); £215 (Superior Zone 2, 3); £290 (Executive Zone 1,2)
  • Self-catering: £130 (Standard Zone 4); £180 (Superior Zone 2, 3); £250 (Executive Zone 1,2)

Room in a shared house

  • Access to communal living facilities — lounge and fully-equipped kitchen, and shared bathroom facilities.
  • Houses managed by the College’s agency
  • Close to College through the tube & easy travelling to central London

Campus

Presently, City and Islington College has five centres in Islington, London alone, with each one specialising in a certain set of subjects. Each centre provides its students with study and recreational spaces, ICT equipment for the use of teaching and learning.
