PhD in Chinese Studies
About
Since its founding in 1921, Xiamen University's Chinese Studies program has long been known for its academic excellence. Renowned academics like Lu Xun and Lin Yutang have taught there. China's Ministry of Education has recognised the program as the "National Talents Training and Research Base for Fundamental Studies in Humanities" and the "National Quality Courses" provider, and it has developed into the leader in the delivery of education in the fields of Chinese linguistics and literature studies.
The Doctor of Philosophy (Chinese Studies) program seeks to produce graduates with a thorough understanding of Chinese studies, the fundamental academic abilities needed to succeed in their careers, and the capacity to use those abilities and knowledge to carry out independent research and produce trustworthy results that will further the field. The significant need for professional education in Chinese language and culture is met by the suggested program. Additionally, this will meet the demand for highly skilled workers in Malaysia and Southeast Asia's labour market. Both native and non-native Chinese will gain from the program's learning objectives, which give them access to up-to-date, accurate, and genuine knowledge and information about China's history, philosophy, culture, language, and literature. Higher degrees of peaceful problem solving can result from the knowledge acquired, which can foster better understanding between peoples and nations.
