Bachelor of Science (Hons) Biomedical Science

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Biomedical Science programme at UTAR is an interdisciplinary course that integrates biology and pre-clinical sciences to equip students with a strong foundation in health sciences. Biomedical science plays a crucial role in understanding, diagnosing, and treating human diseases. Biomedical scientists contribute to medical advancements by developing diagnostic tools, vaccines, drugs, and innovative treatment strategies.

• A-Level: Minimum Grade D in any 2 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics. 
• UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects, including any 2 of: Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics. English Language Requirements: MUET Band 3 / IELTS Band 5.5 / TOEFL 550 / TOEFL 46(iBT) / 8 (Essentials) / PTE 51 / Cambridge English 160 / 200(OET) / ELS CIEP 108.
• SAM (South Australian Matriculation): ATAR 70 and Grade B in any 2 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics.
• CPU (Canadian Pre-University): 70% Average in 6 subjects, including any 2 of: Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics.
• International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: 28 points (excluding bonus points) and a minimum of 4 points in any 2 subjects: Biology-HL, Chemistry-HL, Physics-HL, Mathematics (Applications and Interpretation-HL / Analysis and Approaches-HL).
• Foundation in Science (UTAR): Minimum GPA 2.33 in any 2 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics. English Language Requirements: MUET Band 3 / IELTS Band 5.5 / TOEFL 550 / TOEFL 46(iBT) / 8 (Essentials) / PTE 51 / Cambridge English 160 / 200(OET) / ELS CIEP 108

• Applicants who do not meet the above English Language requirements: - Must take the English Enhancement Programme and pass English Levels 7 & 8 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme.
• The credit requirement in English can be waived if the applicant has higher qualifications with Mathematics and Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Science/Applied Science subjects with an equivalent or higher achievement.
• Applicants without a pass in SPM English / equivalent must take one of the recognised English Proficiency Tests listed by the university and meet the required score before joining the Bachelor's degree programme.
