About
The Commerce Accounting Degree Programme at UTAR is designed to cultivate competent, dedicated, and professional accountants who are in high demand across various industries. Beyond traditional accounting knowledge, UTAR has partnered with the Alibaba Group to offer students the Alibaba Global Digital Talent (GDT) Programme, which equips them with valuable insights, skills, and opportunities in the digital economy. This programme consists of two parts: Digital Transformation and Digital Entrepreneurship. Students who successfully complete both parts receive industry-recognized certifications.
In response to the growing impact of digitalization, the curriculum aligns with industry requirements, particularly in digital awareness. It integrates specialized courses such as Introduction to Financial Prediction with Machine Learning in Python, Financial Technology, and Fundamentals of Digital Media Technology. These courses are designed to prepare graduates to thrive in the modern business landscape, ensuring they possess both technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively within the industry.

Entry Requirements
Any of these:
- STPM: - Grade C+ (GP 2.33) in 2 subjects; - Credit in SPM Mathematics - Pass in SPM English / equivalent**.
- STAM:- Minimum grade of Jayyid; - Credit in SPM Mathematics - Pass in SPM English / equivalent**.
- A-Level: - Grade D in 2 subjects; - Credit in SPM Mathematics - Pass in SPM English / equivalent**.
- UEC:- Grade B (minimum B5) in 5 subjects; - Credit in SPM Mathematics - Pass in SPM English / equivalent**.
- SAM: - ATAR 75 and Grade B in 2 subjects; - Credit in SPM Mathematics - Pass in SPM English / equivalent**.
- CPU: - Average of 80% in 6 subjects; - Credit in SPM Mathematics - Pass in SPM English / equivalent**.
- IB Diploma:- Overall 28 points (excluding bonus) - Minimum 4 points per course; - Credit in SPM Mathematics / equivalent**.
- TVET Diplomas (DKM / DVM / DLKM in Accounting fields): - Fully accredited by MQA - Minimum CGPA of 2.50 (or CGPA 2.00 with at least 2 years relevant experience, subject to Senate approval); - Must pass admission screening - May need to complete a Bridging programme - Credit transfer considered case-by-case.
- Foundation from UTAR: - Minimum CGPA of 2.50; - Credit in SPM Mathematics / equivalent**.
- Matriculation / Foundation from Other Institutions: - Minimum CGPA of 2.50; - Credit in SPM Mathematics / equivalent**.
- Diploma (Level 4, MQF): - Minimum CGPA of 2.50; - Credit in SPM Mathematics / equivalent**.
- Diploma in Accounting (Level 4, MQF) / Equivalent: - Minimum CGPA of 2.50 (CGPA 2.00 - 2.50 may be admitted subject to rigorous assessment); - Credit in SPM Mathematics / equivalent**.
- Advanced Diploma in Accounting or Related Field (Level 5, MQF): - Minimum CGPA of 2.50.
- Other Equivalent Qualifications Recognised by the Malaysian Government: - As per government recognition; - Credit in SPM Mathematics / equivalent**.
Note: Credit in SPM Mathematics / equivalent** - Waived if higher qualifications contain Mathematics with equivalent/higher achievement - If not met, must take and pass Mathematics Enhancement Course (MEC).
English Language Requirements
Malaysian Applicants (STPM / UEC / qualifications not conducted fully in English):
- Credit in SPM English / equivalent - Grade C in O-Level English - Grade B in UEC English - MUET Band 3 - IELTS Band 5.0 - TOEFL 40 (iBT) / 7.5 (Essentials) - PTE 47 - Cambridge English 154 / 100 (OET) - ELS CIEP Level 107.

International Applicants:
