The four-year Accounting programme at UTAR leads to a prestigious accounting degree recognised by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). Upon graduation, individuals with three years of relevant work experience can apply to become a Chartered Accountant (CA) with MIA. Additionally, graduates of the Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) programme may be eligible for exemptions from professional examinations, further accelerating their path toward professional accreditation.

Entry Requirements
- STPM: Grade C+ (GP 2.33) in 2 subjects; Credit in Mathematics & pass in English at SPM level/equivalent.
- STAM: Minimum grade Jayyid; Credit in SPM Mathematics & pass in English at SPM level/equivalent.
- A-Level: Grade D in 2 subjects; Credit in Mathematics & pass in English at SPM level/equivalent.
- UEC: Grade B (minimum B5) in 5 subjects; Credit in Mathematics & pass in English at SPM level/equivalent.
- SAM: ATAR 75 & Grade B in 2 subjects; Credit in Mathematics & pass in English at SPM level/equivalent.
- CPU: Average of 80% in 6 subjects; Credit in Mathematics & pass in English at SPM level/equivalent.
- IB Diploma: 28 points overall (excluding bonus) & minimum 4 points per course; Credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent.
- TVET Diplomas (DKM / DVM / DLKM): MQA-accredited Diploma in Accounting with CGPA ≥ 2.50; Admission screening & Bridging programme if needed; credit transfer case-by-case.
- Foundation from UTAR: Minimum CGPA of 2.50; Credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent.
- Matriculation/Foundation (Other Institutions): Minimum CGPA of 2.50; Credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent.
- Diploma (Level 4, MQF): Minimum CGPA of 2.50; Credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent.
- Diploma in Accounting (Level 4, MQF) / Equivalent: Minimum CGPA of 2.50 (CGPA 2.00 - 2.50 may be admitted after assessment); Credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent.
- Advanced Diploma in Accounting / Related Field (Level 4, MQF): Minimum CGPA of 2.50.
- Other Equivalent Qualifications: Recognized by Malaysian Government; Credit in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent.
Note: Applicants without SPM Mathematics Credit must take and pass the Mathematics Enhancement Course (MEC) before joining related core courses.
English Language Requirements:
- Malaysian Applicants (STPM / UEC / Non-English Medium Qualifications): Credit in SPM English / Grade C in O-Level English / Grade B in UEC English / MUET Band 3 / IELTS 5.0 / TOEFL 40(iBT) or 7.5 (Essentials) / PTE 47 / Cambridge English 154 or 100 (OET) / ELS CIEP Level 107. (Not required for A-Level, SAM, CPU, or fully English-medium qualifications (but must have a pass in SPM English/equivalent).
- International Applicants: IELTS 5.0 / MUET Band 3.5 / TOEFL 40(iBT) or 7.5 (Essentials) / PTE 47 / Cambridge English 154 or 100 (OET) / ELS CIEP Level 107 / equivalent. (Not required for fully English-medium qualifications or students from countries where English is the official language (but must have a pass in SPM English/equivalent).
- Applicants who do not meet the above requirements: Must take the English Enhancement Programme and pass English Levels 7 & 8 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme.
- Additional Notes: Can be waived if higher qualifications include Mathematics with equivalent or higher achievement
