The Diploma in Information Technology programme is designed for both individuals with no prior computing experience and those aiming to build careers in computer-based fields, especially in programming and information systems. Spanning 2.5 years, the programme offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers essential IT subjects, including programming, databases, multimedia, and networks. This well-rounded education ensures that students develop a strong foundation in information technology and practical technical skills.
In addition to IT-related courses, the programme includes subjects such as marketing, business communication, and problem-solving to equip students with versatile, transferable skills. These skills enable them to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The Faculty collaborates with major multinational corporations, providing students with opportunities to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world projects during co-operative placements. Entry Requirements
Academic Requirements

Possess SPM with at least THREE (3) credits in any subjects (inclusive of Mathematics or any equivalent qualification); OR
-
A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum grade of C [Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2.00] in any subject or equivalent qualification and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR
-
A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul (Pass) and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR
-
Possess SKM Level 3 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR
-
A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in any qualification with at least a CGPA of 2.00; OR
-
A pass in any qualification equivalent to certificate (Level 3, MQF); OR
-
Other relevant & equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.
Notes:

Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at an SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted if the certificate programme contains subjects in Mathematics that are equivalent to Mathematics at SPM level.

Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM level and without a related certificate need to take a bridging Mathematics course with appropriate topics in the discipline of Computing at the beginning of the study.

Candidates with a credit in a Computing-related subject at SPM level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration.

In the event that the English Language Requirements are not met, applicants will be required to take Basic English and English Foundation for in-sessional academic enhancement concurrently with the programme.

Applicants who have an academic qualification from a higher learning institution which uses the English Language as a medium of instruction may be granted an exemption from the University Language Requirements.
