Bachelor of Optometry (Hons)
About
Widely recognized for its comprehensive training in managing various eye conditions, UCSI University’s Optometry programme offers in-depth and challenging courses designed to advance clinical skills in vision care. Students gain expertise in all aspects of ocular health, including preventive care, visual therapy, and rehabilitation, enabling them to diagnose and manage a full range of eye diseases. They also learn to assist patients with special needs, such as those with low vision and other visual impairments. By the end of their studies, graduates are fully prepared to deliver world-class eye care.
Optometrists are in demand across government and private hospitals, community health clinics, ophthalmic product manufacturers, and private practices or chain stores. With the rising number of vision impairment cases in Malaysia highlighted by the Ministry of Health, the demand for vision care services continues to grow. Upon completion of the programme, Malaysian students are eligible to register with the Malaysian Optical Council, further enhancing their professional credentials.
