Dr Yeo Siok Koon, from the School of Biosciences, was awarded an international travel grant by Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF). The aim of the travel fund is to promote ASEAN-Japan Cooperation in Food Science and Technology, and this travel grant allowed Dr Yeo to participate at the ASEAN and Japan Experts & Scientists at the 14th ASEAN Food Conference (AFC-14). The conference was held at the SMX Convention Centre in The Philippines. She was one of just five Malaysian awarded with this travel grant, which is recognition of her outstanding work in the field of food science and technology.
