Master in Pharmacy Practice

IMU’s programme is designed to be unique, current, and highly relevant, making it immediately applicable to career advancement—whether for fresh pharmacy graduates or experienced pharmacists. The programme offers four distinct streams within pharmacy and healthcare practice, allowing students to select a specialisation based on their professional goals and career aspirations. Learning outcomes can be directly applied in real-world settings, creating a continuous cycle of knowledge enhancement and professional growth. Research topics are aligned with the chosen stream, and working pharmacists have the opportunity to conduct research within their own workplace, addressing industry-relevant challenges through systematic investigation.  

A blended learning approach, combining face-to-face and online interactive sessions, ensures flexibility for professionals balancing work and postgraduate study. The programme can be completed on a part-time basis within a timeframe of two to four years. IMU students benefit from guidance by academic experts in pharmacy and health professions education, as well as access to the university’s strong research collaborations. Dedicated academic supervisory support is provided throughout the programme to facilitate a high-quality learning experience.

Part-time study mode duration: 2-6 years

Applicants are required to have obtained:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or its equivalent, with a CGPA of 2.75, as accepted by the University’s Senate; or
• A Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
• A Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.

• IELTS : Band score 5.0; or
• TOEFL (iBT) : Overall score of 42; or
• Cambridge English : Advanced (CAE) : Overall score of 154; or
• Cambridge English : Proficiency (CPE) : Overall score of 154; or
• Cambridge Linguaskill : Overall score of 160; or
• Pearson Test of English (PTE) : Overall score of 47;

The following categories of students are exempted from the above requirements:

• International students from countries in which English is the first language.
• International students who graduated from any Malaysian or other institutions where the curriculum is delivered in English.
