Entry Requirements
- Learners must have GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in maths and / or English to complete the course, or alternatively, we have a programme for learners to complete these courses before or alongside their sport and exercise sciences course, depending on their qualifications.
- Applicants who do not meet these entry requirements will be assessed on an individual basis by the Curriculum Leader.
Curriculum
The course requires completion of 19 modules over two academic years of study. Areas of focus tailored to sport and exercise sciences are Current Issues in Sport (covering deviance such as drug abuse in sport), Fitness Testing, Training and Programming (students test and plan a training programme for clients) and Sport Psychology. Students are closely supported by our highly qualified staff, who in addition to the BTEC Extended Diploma, also deliver our HNC / HND programmes, allowing learners the opportunity to develop their rapport with staff across level 3, 4 and 5 courses.
