Entry Requirements

A minimum of 200 UCAS points from at least 2 A'levels or Access to HE Diploma full award (Pass of 60 credits - of which a minimum of 45 credits must be at level 3 including 18 at Merit or Distinction).

You should have GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above, or Key Skills Communication and Application of Number at Level 2.

Curriculum

This course combines the core subjects in computer science with the opportunity to develop additional skills in the area of digital media.

You will develop and enhance your skills as a programmer starting with the essential fundamentals of programming and problem solving. You will study object oriented analysis, design and programming as well as computer systems engineering and web fundamentals, before moving on to databases and software development.

Creative digital media, media technology and advanced media authoring will enable you to focus your studies in the areas of digital media technology. You will have ample opportunity to apply your theoretical learning to practical activities, culminating in the development of a digital media product in your final year project.

You will also engage in studies focused on developing your academic and employability skills and you will be offered the opportunity to undertake a placement year where you gain invaluable experience in the workplace before returning to complete your final year. Many students have found this to be a real asset when it comes to finding a job after graduation.
