Entry Requirements
- GCSE: For all applicants, Grade C or above, or Grade 4 under newly reformed GCSE grading, in English Language or equivalent. Please note the University does not accept Level two Key Skills, Functional Skills or Certificates in Adult Numeracy and Literacy as suitable alternatives to GCSEs.
- A-level subjects: No specific subjects required. Points from A-Level General Studies and AS-Level subjects (not taken onto full A-Level) can be included towards a overall tariff. You must have a minimum of two A-Levels.
- EDEXCEL (BTEC) Diploma: No specific subjects required.
- Access: Achievement of the Access to HE Diploma; to include 15 level 3 credits at merit.
- Baccalaureate IB: No specific subjects required.
Curriculum
Year one
- Convergent Media - interactive, multimedia moving and still image production for online and mobile distribution.
- Media Archaeology - exploring the history of media and the physicality of media in project work and written work.
- Media and Design Contexts - an introduction to locative computing, interface design and mobile web production.
- Pervasive Media 1 - network culture and the nature of work in the digital age, theory and application.
Year two
- Pervasive Media 2 - designing location based mobile applications that explore interactive storytelling, mapping, game play and participation.
- Interface and Experience Design - design for interaction, interfaces and user testing.
- Media Enterprise and Environments - professional development, work placement and portfolio development.
- Data Worlds - mobile app development and interactive video exploring the world of data.
Final year
- Creative Media Design Final Group Project
