Entry Requirements

  • A-levels: BBC.
  • BTEC: DMM.
  • International Baccalaureate:  28 points.
  • Access to HE Diploma: pass with 60 credits overall. Level 3 units in humanities, history or politics preferred. At least 45 credits at Level 3, with 18 credits at merit or above.
  • GCSE (minimum grade C): at least five subjects including English language and mathematics. We do not accept Functional Skills or Key Skills as a GCSE equivalent. Applicants must have already passed, or be in the process of taking the required GCSEs.
  • Foundation degree/HND: may enable you to start the course in year 2.

English Language Requirement:

  • IELTS 6.0 overall, with 6.0 in writing and a minimum of 5.5 in the other elements.

  • Sport and the Body
  • Practical optional modules including: Outdoor Adventurous
  • Activities, Games, Athletics, Dance, Gymnastics and Swimming

Year 2

  • Power and Politics in Sport
  • Applied Research Methods
  • Professional work placement
  • Sports for International Development – standalone qualification gained through the Football for Peace programme

Year 3

  • Dissertation

Options include:

  • Sport and Deviance
  • Racism, Homophobia, Sexism in Sport
  • Sport for International Development 2
  • Football, Culture and Community
  • Mega-Events, Olympic and Legacy
  • Practical modules including coaching, physical education, sport management and sport science
