Entry Requirements
- Secondary school diploma or an IB diploma
- One of the following English language requirements:
- TOEFL with a minimum score of 80 for the Internet-based test, or minimum score of 550 for the paper-based test, or minimum score of 213 for the computer-based test.
- IELTS with an overall Band Score of 6 or above
- Grade 4 or above in English for applicants with IB qualifications
- Grade C in GCSE/IGCSE/GCEOL English
- Additional documents depending on the programme (reference letter, portfolio or CV)
Curriculum
- The key studies are in basic and applied physics, strengthened by engineering subjects and computational physics. Supporting subjects include those in languages, computing, mathematics and management.
- The Physics Core covers basic physics and applied physics, which are relevant to high-technology industries.
- Materials and optoelectronics are the key areas of the Engineering component. Students can choose Elective Subjects, including Polymers & Composites, Semiconductor Materials & Devices, Simulation & Analysis of Optoelectronic Devices, Display Technology, Optoelectronic Packaging & Reliability and Solid State Lighting.
- Students undertake a Final Year Project to integrate the knowledge, aptitude and skills they have acquired.
