About
Increasing Demand for Cybersecurity & Network Professionals
As per a report by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the need for cybersecurity professionals in Malaysia is projected to grow annually at a rate of 10%, with an anticipated market value of RM4.5 billion by 2025. Furthermore, the country's networking sector is forecasted to achieve RM34.4 billion by 2024, propelled by the expansion of 5G networks and the rising adoption of cloud computing. To accommodate this expansion, the Malaysian government has instituted the National Cyber Security Policy and launched the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint, aiming to fortify the nation's cybersecurity infrastructure and cultivate a skilled workforce.
On a global scale, research by Cybersecurity Ventures predicts that global cybercrime expenses will escalate to $10.5 trillion annually by 2025. Additionally, a report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) estimates that cybercrime and cyber espionage collectively incur a global cost of $600 billion annually.
