Entry Requirements

  • Successful completion of an Australian Year 12 or equivalent senior secondary school studies.
  • RMIT Foundation Studies program, or a recognised post secondary Diploma or Certificate in a relevant discipline.
  • Any other international qualifications that are equivalent to an Australian Year 12 / RMIT Foundation studies / Diploma / Certificate. 

Note: Applicants with post secondary work experience in this field will also be considered.

Curriculum

Year 1
You'll study 7 core courses and 1 elective. You'll be introduced to key institutions and concepts in criminal justice, including policing and the correctional system. You'll also learn about the uses of technology in crime, crime investigation, cross cultural communication and psychology.

Year 2
You'll study 6 core courses and 2 electives. You'll learn more about theories in crime and offending, the correctional system, public policy and social research. You'll also study international human rights and global crime.

Year 3
You'll study 4 core courses and 3 electives. You'll be prepared for employment in the criminal justice sector by studying theories about working in organisations, crime prevention, and the ethical practices expected of those who work in the administration of criminal justice.
