Entry Requirements
This course is suitable for those wishing to become IT professionals or who wish to progress to university. Applicants are selected for the course based on their entry requirements and successful interview.
Suitable applicants will ideally be IT enthusiasts who have the drive and ambition to become IT Professionals. The course provides the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge to achieve this goal.
The entry requirements for the course are:
- 4 A to C GCSEs
- English GCSE or equivalent at grade C
- Maths GCSE or equivalent at grade C
- Level 2 qualification in the subject specialism will be considered at Merit or above
Curriculum
The course includes five core areas:
- T network infrastructure
- Computer hardware maintenance and upgrade
- Database Design
- Programming (including Games design)
- IT in Business
In order to provide added relevance to the workplace, we have combined the study of three Microsoft MTA (Microsoft Technology Associate) courses within the BTEC framework. These accredited courses are as follows:

- HTML5 App Development Fundamentals – course number 375
