Entry Requirements
- Minimum entry requirements include five GCSE Grades at C or above including English language, but it is expected that most students would arrive with a good clutch of supporting A levels.
- A written statement of not more than 250 words indicating your reasons for pursuing a career in art & design must accompany your application form.
- All students attending interview are also required to present a current portfolio of art and design work that demonstrates their commitment and engagement to the subject area. Mature students over the age of 21 who may not have the necessary qualifications could be offered a place on the strength of their interview performance and accompanying portfolio of work.
Curriculum
- Term 1 (exploratory stage). Offers students the opportunity to experience a wide range of studio activities spanning two- and three-dimensional subject disciplines: Fine Art, Two-Dimensional Design and Three-Dimensional Design.
- Term 2 (pathway stage). Offers students the opportunity to discover their own strengths within a specific subject area.
- Term 3 (confirmatory stage). At this stage of the course students negotiate individual programmes of work with a focus on specific subject areas; the term ends with a final assessment exhibition.
