Entry Requirements

**SPM/O-levels requirement : Applicants must have obtained 5Bs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics
(or Additional Mathematics) and another subject.
Additional MQA requirements (as requested by FOM)
Applicant must NOT have failed in any other subjects listed in the results transcript.
Pre-condition:
Malaysian applicants who seek employment in the public sector are required to attain credit in Bahasa Malaysia & English.
All applicants should have attained a level of competence in English to enable them to complete the course successfully and achieved an equivalent competency of Band 4 MUET/TOEFL score of 550/IELTS score of 6.
All applicants must have taken or registered for MUET upon applying for the programme.
Aptitude Test/Interview:
All eligible applicants are required to attend an aptitude test and interview (to be conducted by AIMST University).
Additional Requirement from MMC
A person with any of the following shall be disqualified from entry into a medical programme:
- found guilty of offence(s) affecting the human body; and/or
- recent or serious dishonesty e.g. cheating at examination, falsification of documents, plagiarism; and/ or
- serious physical or mental illness; and/or
- serious communicable disease(s)

Curriculum
Phase 1
Integrated Preclinical with Year 1 courses which features Basic Medical Sciences, Society & Health, Biostatistics & Ethics in Medicine coupled with short interface with the hospital. Year 2 courses are dedicated to Cardiovascular Systems, Respiratory Systems and Gastrointestinal Systems, Renal Systems, Central Nervous Systems and Endocrine & Reproductive Systems
Phase 2
The programme covers the Clinical Years 3 & 4 and is designated as Junior Clerkship. Year 3 covers Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Paediatrics. There will also be integrated clinical teaching of Diabetes. Students are also required to complete one SSM in Year 3. Year 4 is essentially devoted to the coverage of Clinical Sub-specialties, Forensic Medicine and Clinical Laboratory Sciences. During this phase students will actively engage in PBL sessions, symposia, clinical classes and self-directed learning
Phase 3
Senior Clerkship years are where the students will consolidate the knowledge gained in Phases 1 & 2. Students will revisit and strengthen the skills in all the four major areas: Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Paediatrics
